US Bank awards grant for Sierra students – Mechatronics for Humanity and Business Entrepreneurship showcase events

US Bank has been a huge supporter for education innovation at Sierra College, and today the Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and representatives from the Auburn, CA branch presented the Sierra College Foundation with $10,200 for student makerspace scholarships.  The scholarships allow MECH 90 (capstone class) and BUS 141 (Entrepreneurship/Adobe Kickbox class) semester-long access to Hacker Lab Powered by Sierra College where they can use tools and equipment and members of the makerspace community to prototype human-centered design solutions.  Students tell us that having 24 x 7 access to the makerspace is critical to their work and learning process.

At the end of the semester, students hold showcase events to present their work to a panel of judges.  Students can also participate in related events such as the Startup Hustle bootcamp and Startup Weekend.

Thank you US Bank and Sierra College Foundation!
