Triple Collaboration- K-12, Community College, Makerspace

Sierra College Tahoe-Truckee Humanities instructor Kris Hansen needed some large scrabble letters printed on wood blocks for a leadership activity he was facilitating at the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD). TTUSD CTE and Adult Education Director, Dr. Todd Wold partnered with Student Maker-in-Residence, Zoe Blythe (pictured) to design the letters in Illustrator and produce them using the laser cutter and router. The letters were key manipulatives in an activity created to help staff recognize cognitive biases in recording student absences. The goal was to increase empathy.
