Outreach intersects art, making and the human connection

Outreach and communication to students, faculty and staff  on the Sierra College Rocklin campus expanded this semester when the Business & Technology Division dedicated billboard space at Carner Hall to the Sierra Makerspaces project.  Heather Lee Lincoln, Sierra alumna and Makerspaces Creative Consultant, fabricated components on the laser cutter, and student helpers set everything in place.  On-going outreach includes classroom visits by student ambassadors and campus or makerspace events, reaching hundreds of students each semester.  Students hear from their peers about the makerspace value (learning and practicing new skills, developing a network of creative colleagues and friends) and receive a personal invitation to come by and take a tour.
