On January 3rd, 2018, San Bernardino Mayor Carey Davis spoke at the 1 Million Cups San Bernardino entrepreneurial, peer-to peer mentorship event held in San Bernardino Valley College’s makerspace, the IE Accelerator. Hosted by the San Bernardino Community College District’s Economic Development and Corporate Training (EDCT) Foundation, this initiative reaches out to the community and students each month to bring together entrepreneurs, small business owners, and anyone hoping to start their own business, as a way to accelerate networking, potential collaboration between local businesses, and provide opportunity for growth within the Inland Empire. EDCT Foundation Executive Director, Ashley Gaines, promoted the IE Accelerator and its connection and future benefits for our entrepreneurs and students, as well as highlighted some of the equipment (e.g. 3D printers, Cricuts, laser cutters) that will be housed there and the classes available to them starting later this year.
To start the year off strong, Mayor Carey Davis spoke at 2018’s first 1 Million Cups San Bernardino event with a presentation focused on his work plan for the city, some recent accomplishments, and goals he has in mind for the city’s future.
