May 18 – Mechatronics for Humanity Showcase

The Mechatronics for Humanity Showcase  will be held on Friday, May 18 featuring the work of Sierra College Mechatronics 90 students.

Students will be presenting their capstone projects designed to meet a social need and to make life easier. The showcase will be held at Hacker Lab powered by Sierra College, located at 4415 Granite Drive, Rocklin CA. A light meal will be provided beginning at 5:30pm followed by the presentations.

Omar Peregrina – Automated dog ball thrower
Dominic Pettinato – Portable/off the grid solar power station
Zak Kazee – Off the grid/Third World generator
Robert Robbins – Remote controlled bedside hospital table
Randy Saum – Off the grid/Third World solar water heater
Lucas Yetter – Hidden/Child safe gun safe with RFID

This Mechatronics capstone program is supported by CCC Maker, Sierra College Foundation, US Bank and Hacker Lab powered by Sierra College. Students are given scholarships to join the makerspace so they can access community resources to help them complete their projects.
