On August 13, representatives from Sierra College’s campuses in Nevada County, Tahoe Truckee and Rocklin meet at our makerspace community partner’s space – Hacker Lab powered by Sierra College – to kick off strategic planning for 2018-19.
The focus was on how to achieve the goals we set in the CCC Maker work plan to build community, develop curriculum, provide internships and offer students meaningful makerspace experiences. Many familiar events are returning this year and we are looking at more ways to attract students, faculty and staff to the amazing opportunities that making offers as well as working with our community makerspace partners.
With the CCC Maker grant funding ending in May 2018, we also turned our attention to increasing the sustainability of Sierra Makerspaces.
We are appreciative that Deborah Bird and Salomon Davila, CCC Maker Technical Assistance Providers, attended our session and provided constructive feedback and ideas to enrich our discussion.
