Moreno Valley College (MVC) and the City of Moreno Valley have entered into a ground-breaking partnership with the City of Moreno Valley Employment Resource Center (ERC) to assist small business entrepreneurs and job seekers. Available assistance includes the development of marketable job skills and technical knowledge using a rapid prototype space for innovative design work. The iMAKE Mobile Innovation Center houses a design studio with computer workstations and 40-inch monitors, vinyl printers/cutters, laser printers/cutters, and 3D Printers with dual head, high speed and high-resolution capabilities. In addition, the computer stations host the latest Adobe graphic design software and a virtual reality Oculus Rift system; both are available for demonstration.
The iMAKE Mobile Innovation Center is available at the city’s Small Business Wednesday’s workshops and events. Workshops hosted at the ERC focus on topics such as How to Start a Small Business and Perfecting Your Pitch. Workshops are supplemented with hands-on makerspace activities with the College’s mobile innovation center. Through this pioneering partnership, community members and potential MVC students may access cutting edge resources and technology designed for small business rapid prototyping and explore Career & Technical Education STEM degree and certificate programs.
