To inspire faculty to incorporate maker projects into their curriculum as well as encourage students to join the Hacker Lab community, Mathematics faculty members Katy Lucero and Lynn Harrison Benavidez are planning a Faculty Maker Night at Hacker lab powered by Sierra College on Wednesday, August 21 from 6-9 PM as part of the Sierra College Flex week professional development activities for faculty.
Members of the Sierra Makerspaces team will host stations where faculty can make something to take home. They’ll have an opportunity to make several projects, explained Lucero. “We’ll be running a handful of stations at Hacker Lab in Rocklin for faculty make a few items and to explore the makerspace,” said Lucero.
Through the partnership with Hacker Lab, Sierra College faculty and students can access the makerspace at discounted rates.
