Entrepreneur Networking Night

Denise Bushnell, Sierra College Professor, Sierra Makerspaces team member, and Project Director of a Regional Entrepreneurship (Strong Workforce) and Gig Economy (Small Business Sector) initiative, conducted an Entrepreneur Networking Night on February 22 at Hacker Lab Powered by Sierra College.  Thirty-seven students representing accounting, business and entrepreneurship majors heard from employer and business organization speakers, asked questions, and then spent 90 minutes networking.

Business representatives included:

  • Kay Whitaker – Co-Founder of Ceronix
  • Janice McCall – Production Supervisor ,Ceronix Production (and Sierra College alumnus)
  • Jillian Haynes – Mechatronics Engineer, Ceronix (and Sierra College Mechatronics alumnus)
  • Lisa Risdal – Executive Director, Acres of Hope
  • California Capital FDC – Mike Schremmer, Director, Procurement Technical Assistance Center
  • Women’s Business Center – Deborah Lowe Muramoto, Director
  • U.S. Small Business Administration – Heather Luzzi, District Director
Students gave very positive feedback – and asked if there would be the opportunity to have other networking Meet ups!
