CCC Maker Symposium

College of the Canyons is hosting the CCC Maker Sustainability Fall Symposium, a one-day event that will promote the exchange of sustainability strategies for California makerspaces.

Attendees will learn about creating new funding streams, sustainability, developing clear mission statements, as well as how to take a makerspace to the next level through entrepreneurship. The day’s activities will also include a tour of the COC MakerSpace.

The MakerSpace’s mission is to enable community members to design, prototype and create manufactured works that wouldn’t be possible to create with the resources available to individuals working alone.

The Valencia campus Makerspace opened in May 2016, which was followed by the opening of the Canyon Country campus’s location five months later.

Time: 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

Location: Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, Lobby

Contact: Eric Harnish, COC Public Information Office (661) 362-3429.
